Following the craze of Guitar Hero and Rock Band Neversoft and Redoctane released DJ hero which put you in the shoes of a DJ and played a mix of two songs. The Music in the game ranges from rap to pop and you can play some Daft Punk. Much like Gutiar Hero and Rock Band with their instrument controllers DJ Hero gives you a turntable controller with the blue, red and green buttons on a spinable record which you use to scratch and rewind.
In addition to the record there is a cross fade switch which moves the track line to the left or the right, a euphoria button which is the star power for this game and a knob which lets you go through the menus and lets you distort the songs. You could also use a guitar controller and play with your friend on the turn table.
The online features include downloadable content like more songs and you could play online against other people or if you don't really like online play you can also just sit down a play with a friend offline. Latter they released DJ Hero 2 which added some new features to the game on top of more DJs and songs you could now freestyle during play. In some sections you will be given the freedom to scratch how ever you want cross fade how you want there is even a freestyle tap. They let you hook up a microphone in this game so you can sing along if you want to its like singing in Rock Band and in Guitar Hero and Rock Band you try and match the pitch but they added rap sections to the singing where you to try and hit the notes as accurately as possible. The DJ Hero series is a nice addition to the Music game line up. Yes it could be better but what other game out there couldn't.
