For those of you out there that enjoy playing games such as Fable or Grand Theft Auto, You'll definitely enjoy this. I know it's hard to imagine what a middle ground between the two games would be like, but Saints Row seems to capture that idea elegantly. Best part is it's a story without a character. This means that anyone can fill the blank.
Saints Row 2 begins waking up from what appears to be in a coma...though confusing at first, this is actually a great way to tell the player the story before they actually start running off and ignoring the rest of it.
Don't get me wrong, it is a good story, and I for one payed attention to it..I'm just sure a lot of people don't like to sit, watch, and listen.
One of the best parts of this game which I feel is very much worth pointing out is the customization. You are able to pick a gender, a voice, a style, and you get sliders...how I love sliders. What I mean by this is controlling the size or amount any one property is applied to a specific area...for instance, with a slider I can control how big my nose is.
The Customization level in this game is great enough that I can actually create an in game replica of me or Heather (my significant other), and the best part is it will apply to everything to do with my character including cutscenes.
Another great part of this game is the freedom you get right off the bat. Even the story line is done in the order that you choose..as long as it's all done by the end you can do it as quickly, slowly, backwards...any way you want.
There are also shops where you can buy clothes, food, and a plastic surgeon so you can edit or recreate your character at anytime..pretty sweet if you ask me.
As for the actual game play, I think it's best if you give it a try yourself. In fact, I highly suggest it...
